1995 f150 problems
 
I got a 95 f150 with a 5.0 lastweek it started running rough back firing and bogging down when I try to drive it I cant figure it out I unhooked the cats thinking they were clogged, changed the o-rings for the injectors, did a tune up, check the fuel pressure changed the fuel filter, then I looked at the fuse box inside the cab and seen it was fried, so I changed the wiring harness inside for the fuse box but still doin the same deal. I hooked up a scanner and a code came up for the map sensor and there isn't one. Any ideas on what it could be will help im tired of driving my gfs mazda3 I want my truck back lol

Dirty MAF sensor and/or air filter?

Bad O2 sensor?

Does the engine vibrate? Bad spark plug/plugs?

some food for thought
the o2 sensor can go out causing problems one to be the flooding of the CAT, I know this from personel experience

I think the sensor located on the firewall
check youe under hood vacuum route diagram or get a Hanyes Manual or go to the parts store and page through one

on a new to you Truck a MANUAL will be your best Tool

also: on a MAF engine. It was optional in '94-95; standard in '96. Does your air filter cover have 2 outlets, or just 1 with a Y between it & the engine?

if so just the MAP sensor (speed-density) its mounted to the evaporator housing above the R exhaust manifold.

i checked the timing its good got a new maf sensor. unhooked the cats. i went to change the map sensor but it dont have one (or i just cant find it) but i checked on google to see where it might be and a picture came up and showed a vacum hose running from the top of the intake to the map sensor but the one its suppose to be is capped off. so im lost with this deal

there were some weid changes between '95 -'96
on the emission's
MAF&MAS
some had some, some had none

Did we ever figure out what the problem with this was? I am having the same issue. I have replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, plug wires, cap, rotor, oil sender unit, "about to give an oil change but thats besides the point, I have added a cold air intake and removed the muffler b4 the issue started but have drivin around for 3 or 4 weeks b4 the issue started. Have done everything it says I can do with seafoam to the truck. So have we figured anything else out?
