Paint Color Poll

Ok guys, first off let me say that this isn't going to happen anytime soon as I still have a vacuum bug I gotta work out, and getting it tagged first. Anyway, I have some body work and bed floor replacement to do on my 1979 F150, the color it's in now is it's original color which is Dark Metallic Blue(code S on the door tag and see paint chip chart below), I'm thinking of doing a tu-tone or just one solid color if I can determine which color. So what do you guys think about which color I should use?? I've been shooting the moon and wanting to go with the Silver Metallic as a solid color.

The paint chip chart:

Please don't kill me over the size of the chart I couldn't find a smaller one that was able to be seen.:krying:

if ya click on your chart it will enlarge

Dark Metallic Blue with Black on the rocker panels; Blue is a good compliment for chrome/aluminum
keep all the trim and bumper as is; that trim around the head lights & grill is like a $350 piece

Silver Metallic is a tough color to apply without experence; what you say Stewy

on your poll whats the color of (M)

if ya stick with the original color you may not have to do the door jambs & stuff and I've always liked the underside of the hood, firewall and fenders in the engine compartment painted Black

heres my old '77 that trim around the fenders and bed is called 'Race Track Trim'

Whimbledon White is M, I've always had an affinity with Tu-tone Fords.

Did a resto last year on this 76 250 with the original layout. i was fond of it.

Although if it was mine i would have ditched ALOT of that trim. The codes on this truck were M&S.

Whimbledon White and Dark Blue Metallic, the blue is the same as mine, I do like that layout and the colors..

And JSoko I'd paint my truck red as that's one of my favorite colors, but I don't know how it'd look with a blue interior and I don't want to take the interior apart really..

Soko is right about the silver as well. Unless you are gonna spray all the silver at once it will be different shades. Air pressure at the gun, distance the gun is from the panel, and how fast you move the gun all affect how light or dark silvers turn out. Personally i use the "evel kneivel" method when spraying silvers. Just pin it and hope for the best! RIP Evel!

Thanks for the info Stewy, I plan on doing this myself so I'll take that into consideration, just bumping around trying to get ideas.
