Military Tires

Lookin for new boots for Stitches, I think budget wise as always. Right now I'm looking long and hard at these guys, they're 37" radials for 16.5 wheels which I have.

I just hope like hell they balance and take my hiway speeds.
:money:

Well I can tell you I have had HMMWVs at highway speed (55+ speedo only goes to 55) and did not have a problem with these tires. They are great off-road and they ride nice on road.

ASwaff400 October 17th, 2010 07:36 PM

from what ive read they last longer(tread wear) than your starndard 37" tire, ive considered buying a set...

jallen3521 October 17th, 2010 07:42 PM

Yeah, I can't think of any HMMWVs that have had to have the tires replaced because of wear.

75 bucks 80% tread... 37" all for under 500.00 shipped. Not a bad deal.

I'm looking really hard at the deal, I think its a great deal but I'm weary of one thing. Balanced at 75-90mph, I do routinely hit over highway speeds with my truck. the 35" bfg at's take it decently, but I've never seen any of these tires in person.

Well, thats the chance you gotta take. Give them a buzz and ask them. Also give you a chance to feel these guys out.

DIXIE FIX October 17th, 2010 10:32 PM

ive heard really good things about them, and i know a few dealers that i can ask. But they are radials and 37's so the 90MPH thing is gonna be anyones guess.

I've emailed him, got a response. Asked him the bennies of grooved tires vs take-offs. Also asked how they ride at and above freeway speeds.

The grooved tires give great benefits for on road driving. They perform better in wet condition since you are breaking up the lugs. By nature, the radial tires will perform better on road versus a bias ply tire. The bias ply tires flat spot and take a bit of heat to get round again. The radials hold their shape through many different conditions. These tires will work well on road and balance out well. At $75 bucks you canít go wrong.

We have a supporting terminal in Kennewick where you can pick up your tires. 4 non grooved tires will be $489.32 shipped. 4 grooved tires will be $789.32 shipped. This is your closest terminal:
Think I'll buy non grooved, and sipe them if possible if not groove myself.

Any info and first hand experiences will be helpful!

I talked to my buddy Charles over at War Tires and he has a set of these tires on his H2 and says that he hits 85-90 mph every weekend. So if they are balanced good then i dont see you having any issues.
