Default Do you have the dreaded P0171 & P0174 code?

Has your check engine light been on for a while? Does you Ranger drink more fuel than it used to? Have you gone to the auto store to get your check engine light/OBDII scanned to find out it has a running lean bank 1 and bank 2 issue? If you have a 4.0, I have a few answers and a solution for you!

I have found a wonderful website that addresses these exact codes. And more specifically if you have both. Possible problems include:
PCV hose leak
Intake Manifold Gasket leak
Fuel pump going, but not gone yet
MAF sensor dirty
Exhaust leak before the pre catalytic converter O2 sensors
Bad pre catalytic converter O2 sensors

Here's the link for Troubleshooting P0171 And P0174 Ford 4.0L V6

I ended up finding that my lower intake manifold gasket was shot and had to be replaced.
