remember, you may have 1 ton springs, but you still have 1/2 ton frame and suspension.the most i have towed bumper pull with my f150 was around 12,000 lbs with brakes on all 3 axles, the trailer was set up perfect for the boat and it was not a fun tow. also your transmission will suffer greatly. the most i would tow on the interstate with the f150 was around 5,500 lbs...

just because the hitch is rated to pull a certain amount, dont mean the truck is rated for that...

with my f250, i regularly tow boats from 5,000 to 10,000 lbs, with the occasional 12 to 15K lb boat. and once you get to that weight, its a whole different world
