Cool Tranny Problem

I have a 2005 F-150 4x4 5.4 automatic. It will go into reverse every time I try, it will sometimes go into drive or the other 3 gears, but not always, sometimes it takes going in reverse for awhile then might go into a forward gear, and seems to go into a forward gear if give it some rpm's, Once in a forward gear it goes fine, for example if I can get it going in 2nd I can keep the rpm's up and step on brake to keep it in 2nd. Any ideas out there. I'm new to this site and would appreciate any help. Thanks Willy C. P.S. It shows codes PO720 and P2106

Hi willy, welcome to the club. Sorry to hear about your tranny problems. My next door neighbor is a tech at a local Ford dealership and I intend to try and recruit him into our club. In the mean time, I will bend his ear and see if he has any ideas on whats happening with your truck.
