Default Adding a 302 w/PS

Hey everyone. I just purchased a 61 f100 with a 223/I6. I love it but definitely doesn't make the power I want so I would eventually like to put in a 302 crate motor maybe next summer. My question is that I have no power steering right now which makes the truck tough to drive. If I added power steering now would I be wasting my $$$ if I got a 302 next summer? Could I convert it to power steering now and still add the 302 w/4spd tranny without any issue? thanks
