Default 95 instrument cluster swap = alternator not charging

I swapped the instgrument cluster on my truck (1995) for for an instrument cluster with a tach. This came out of a pick a part place. I think this cluster is from a 92-93? Everything works except the alternator is not charging. I saw a thread that discussed the need to swap four wires on the instrument cluster, but it did not say which ones. Does anyone here know which ones I should swap?

If no one knows the best way to figure it out would be to get a haynes manual for both year models and look at the wiring diagrams. Im sure you could figure it out from there.

There is a diode or resistor in the cluster(I forget which one), you'll have to find which circuit or is an put a jumper in. It lets the batt light come on briefly to switch the voltage regulator on. I had to do that when o put a 93 cluster in my 95...

NightShade, I swapped out my cluster in my 1995 F150.

For the 94 - 95 F-150 you will need to stick with a OBD I cluster from a 94 - 95 truck. 96 is OBD II so that answers that question and 92 - 93 F-150's are also interchangeable (I'm sure the same applies to Bronco's). You can also use a 94 - 95 lightning cluster that has a 120 MPH speedometer. That will make your F-150 35 MPH faster with no engine mods! (just kidding)

Also the 95 96 year I ran into late 95 with a 6 code and early 96 with 5 codes .
