Okay so now what exactly do I do, same with IAC.
Cleaned one IAC and then went to a second JY one, and still have a random higher idle and a surging at steady throttle.

The E303 cam in my opinion is not so good for everyday local driving... just look at it's RPM range... something I should have really thought about before installing.

Another thing... the f150 stock automatic transmissions - E4OD - and the E303 cam... not so good together. The torque converter needs to be changed for this cam to really work as best as it can on an auto trans.

If your car or truck is stick, this cam will be fine BUT the same issue still applies with the cams RPM range.

I haven't bothered to change mine yet.

I'm thinking about an entirely new trans to replace the E4OD but thats another subject for a future thread!


Knowing what I know now,

While I had the block out, I really should have went the 331 stroker route with some nice AFR heads and a mild cam. A nice torquey engine that could smoke the tires with no problem when the light turned green!

Just my opinion on things...

Russo,

While your f150 is running, unplug your IAC harness. See if the idle changes... mine didn't at all so that was the extra kick I needed to just swap it out. Mind you, I had cleaned it pretty well only days before.


If the idle doesn't change, my suggestion is to buy a new IAC, forget JY parts for something like this. A new one is cheap enough and easy to swap as you know and will really put all doubts to rest as far as the IAC being the issue.

Two affordable options are:

Auto Zone
Advance Auto

I went with Advance Auto because it was a dollar cheaper and came with a new gasket. The Auto Zone one was a dollar more and no gasket... WTF!

No, it's speed density, uses a MAP sensor. Which I do believe is causing my "bucking" at steady throttle.
