Default 2150 carb rebuild woes

Hello,

I'm rebuilding the carb on a '76 F100 360ci, auto. Got my carb clean, got a kit from autozone, I'm missing the tag on my carb I believe it's a 2150 from the videos I've watched on Youtube? Anyway, carb was a mess inside, no wonder it wouldn't run! Looks like I'm missing the needle hanger clip, its the last thing before buttoning it up. I ordered a kit from Mike's carb and spoke with someone, they advised that I'm also missing the guard that the seat sits in? How do I know for sure if I need this? Either way its on the way as I couldn't seem to source the parts locally here in Asheville. Any thoughts? Also do I check the status of my gas tank so that I know to replace or clean out? Truck sat for at least 3 years but really I don't know!!!

Thanks

I would drop and flush the gas tank on general principle on a truck that old.

My thoughts as well. Was planning on dropping the tank this weekend, taking a look and flushing, checking for rust etc.
