Post 1968 Ford F-250 Camper Special

Hello everyone!

I recently acquired my Dad's 68 Camper Special. He was the second owner. He only owned it for about 18 months. The truck is in primo condition. Coming from a small town where everyone knows everyone, he knew the entire history from the original owner. The truck was only used for hauling the camper. When it was not in camping mode, it sat in a barn so always out of the weather. 18K original miles w/running motor & good final drive unit and auto tranny in between. The paint was tired but with no patina to show off, I am in the process of repainting it (very, very minimal body work & the bed is mint). I am dressing up the engine bay area and I have a few of the reproduction decals like the fan shroud decal & the 390 CID air cleaner decal.

So my question is: where can I find out what other decals apply and, how & where to display these decals as they did off the assembly line? I have found several websites that sell them but none that show how & where to apply them.

I am a gear head by nature and have 40+ years under the hoods of all my cars so I have a good working knowledge. Because this truck was/is in such pristine condition, I do not need to do a frame off resto. I am putting a 3 stage paint job on it (epoxy, factory base coat, and then a clear coat) with all original paint codes (body is a pale yellow and the bumpers, rims, and the cab roof & A/B pillars are an off white).

I'm a new member and joined to see if this would be a good place to exchange info and ideas. I appreciate everyone's interest and assistance. I will post some pictures soon. Thanks Everyone... Woody

LMC sells collectors guides that have pictures and such. These may be an avenue you can use. Stickers in the right places are a big part of originality and value for collectors. hope this helps.
