Default Engine bogs down

1992 f150 5.0 auto, when I start it up and put it in gear (reverse or drive) it bogs down to the point where it almost dies, it has died once on my wife but not on me yet. I know it run rich because it doesn’t have an o2 sensor ( just bought truck and it has after market headers with no hole for it and I haven’t gotten to it yet) and when you first start it up it idles high then when put in gear it drops, do you guys have any idea what it could be? I had a 90 f150 with the 5.0 before and didn’t have this problem.

You have to get a working O2 sensor into it before you can even think about anything else concerning driveability.
