Unhappy F150 fx4 phaser knock

Just wanted to chime in on the phaser issue... MY 5.4 07 fx4 has 99k miles and has just started with the low rpm/psi knock. Dealer said they could not recreat noise. Ha Ha. I came in drove it 17miles brought back and said. Listen, whats that... OH, thats the phasers. Service bulletin on that, owners use aftermarket filter and it throws debris clogging oiling ports to phasers. I call, cricket crap. This sounds like an excuse for bad engineering. Was told to run an oil cleaner, change oil with filter ( motorcraft) and that should help.
Any advise on additive cleaners and how many miles to clean the "debris"?
I have read the many unhappy F150 5.4 owners comments. Is Ford going to stand behind this TSB crap or do the right thing. Admit the phasers VCT idea is junk.
Is it not just the selenoid timing part? Who can advise me on this issue.
Much thanks in advance.
I love the truck looks but the workmanship is sketchy on the motor.
Help

Default The knock

SEA FOAM
it comes in a red and white can . read the can and do as it says .

Or you can warm the engine add around half the can let idle for 10 min and drain ..

may need to repeat for the next 2 to 3 oil changes ..

Chances are the noise you are hearing after driving for a while is the LIFTERS . i have found 2 causes FIRST not staying on top of oil changes SECOND cheap filters some are store brands others are FFRRAAMM . cut open a fram and then cut open a wix HUGE diff between the 2 i use to be a fram person until they started making cost saving steps to make the filter

If the knock still comes back after driving for a while you may need to replace the oil pickup tube . HOPE YOU CAUGHT IT IN TIME

No code just let it tick...I know...oh my gosh!!! It will not hurt anything, it does not take away from the power, when you get a code we can chat. I know, some people hate the tick, It does not bother me. Good luck my friend...goodluck!!

MC FL820s filter
MC 5w20 oil
it was hard for me to run that thin oil in my Ford Truck, after many years of useing 30w and 20w50 in other vehicles

read these reports on filters & oil, its a good read
click all the links, you may be surprised at what you learn about your favorite filter

I think its a little odd of thin of oil you can run in these, but after you've been inside one of these mod motors you can kinda see why.

can you all describe the sound of a phaser knock? I have a sound in my truck I'm trying to nail down. I thought it may be coming from my headunit though. kinda sounds like a hard drive spinning back and forth / seeking....

Since you said Royal Purple - I am assuming you are using Valvoline's Full Synthetic?
