Default 1978 f250 trans

Hey I'm a new member here doing a build up on a 78 f250 (Its all in my introduction if you're interested)

I'm at the stage where I'm looking up new transmissions.
Going to drop a 24v 5.9 Cummins ISB and need a trans that can keep up and fit.

Looking at the ZF547, I can get an adapter plate, but the questions are; will it fit in my truck? and how is the transmission?- iv been truned away from dodge's whatever 5 speed dude to reliability.

Truck is supercab custom camper special if it matters.

Good call on the dodge trans ..
You should have the room that is needed just take a look at fords c6 .
ZF not a bad trans just dont crowd it when shifting
If you arent stuck on manual trans and have the bling for a auto look at a company on FLORIDA called SUN COAST TRANS most guys that are doing truck pulls run that brand and have had really good luck . I have installes 5 of em and will say that really badass trans really good shift
