Thumbs down EcoBoost is Not Recommended

I was thinking about getting a new truck and the F150 4x4 EcoBoost is what I wanted. I have talked to every owner I've seen in parking lots and else where. One problem is not one person I've talked with, if they had a to do it again would buy an EcoBoost.
Problems have been-poor MPG's, on average about 6 MPG less than advertised, (the advertised high MPG was one of the biggest factors most bought the truck), stalling out when punching it, condensation in the intercooler, on a positive note it did tow heavy loads well but sucked gas.

Here's what I read in the latest Consumer Reports magazine.
Ford's problem didn't end with the my-Touch systems. The EcoBoost turbocharged V6 engine has landed on the bottom reliability rung. The problems have more to do with components that go with the engine, such as the fuel pump or the rough shifting transmission, than the engine itself. Regardless, over two thirds of the Trucks in our survey got scores that were much worst than average.
New & redesigned model from Ford continue to show teething pains, putting the Ford nameplate near the bottom of the list.
The Truck that scored the lowest in their testing was the Nissan Titan with a -99% drop in reliability.

The more I thought about it, there is no reason for me to get rid of my '06 F150 4X4 5.4, with only 42,000 miles

That is interesting. I thought the ecoboost was a big success.

The EcoBoost is fine, the problem is human nature. Not only are the trucks advertised as economical, their power is advertised as well. People buy them for the power first and economy second. It shows in their driving habits. If they do buy them for economy, they soon realize the power that's available and maybe have some right pedal mischief. I know a guy I work with that has an EB quad cab 4x4 and on his trips to Tunica, MS he averages 22-23 mpg per trip. Not bad for a big ass, heavy, 1/2 ton truck dripping with power. If anyone ever thought EcoBoost was going to be perfect out of the box, that's asinine. How many times before this did Ford produce a variable twin cam timed, direct injected, twin turbo gas engine? Never! Better yet, how many other automakers were doing this combo before Ford? None. How many are doing it now or will be? All of them! EcoBoost has changed the marketplace and that's worth more than the opinions of a few disgruntled owners that'll place blame on something other than themselves.

I guess it goes to show to some having a turbo means massive tire smoke. But that would be my excuse to get the wheels and tires I want if I ever buy a new truck.

To be honest, if I owned an EB, I wear out the first set of tires QUICK!! Especially if it was a new F150 Tremor! Lol
