Default DTCs P0171/0174/1000

Hey all, went to put my truck back to stock since I was using a Hypertech programmer, and came up with 3 DTCs.

P0171
P0174
P1000

From a simple search, P1000 is a diagnostic interrupt code, PCM didn't finish doing a check on things. Everyone says this is nothing, and after the code is cleared, simple driving techniques will fix this.

The other 2 are Lean codes, Banks 1 & 2. Too much air, not enough fuel.

I found this site to be helpful:

http://www.aa1car.com/library/ford_lean_codes.htm

I talked to Matt this morning, and agree with him, that if it was something major, the check engine light would have gone off. This has not happened. Truck is running the same as it was before the tuner, and I have not noticed any changed performance.

I did however explain to Matt, that the other day, I was running real low on gas, going up a hill and I gunned it. Engine bogged down real bad, from lack of gas and I thought could this have tripped the code?

Matt suggested I first try to clean my MAF sensor and see if that helps, which I will do this weekend.

Before I take it to the dealership, has anyone else run into this problem before. Seems it may be a pretty common thing for our trucks and if it's nothing to worry about, I'd feel better hearing that..........even though Matt said it's not that big a deal.

Thanks everyone.

Running a CAI and programmer I've been told can make you run a little lean.
If you bought an Edge the first thing it tells you in the instructions is to call PHP and get a custom tune if you have a CAI.
Now, I have ran my CAI and exhaust for quite awhile without a programmer and had no such problems.
When I got my Gryphon from PHP they told me to run on the tow setting until the custom tune was ready.
This gave extra fuel to keep from running too lean according to PHP.
As of now, I have yet to set off any codes nor did I before.

I took the tuner off, so now I am just running the CAI. I'm now convinced this isn't a huge issue. but it freaked me out a bit. Will disconnecting my battery for a bit while I clean the MAF theoretically reset the PCM? And I should have no codes next time?

Disconnecting the battery will reset the PCM.
Codes will reset but will they come back.............who knows?

Removed the codes, wouldn't let me go back to stock without doing so.

Although some of this may be true not all of it is...

I have a K&N CAI, Cat back flowmaster exhaust, and Edge programmer. I have NEVER had ant DTC of any kind. never a lean or rich code nothing. I run it on Extreme with 93 octane sometimes and I run level 2 with 87 octane sometimes and I've never had a problem.

I may call up PHP and have them convert it and get some custom tunes wrote up for it.

Last I spoke with Bill at PHP he told me I could drive it over there to him and I could watch him create the custom tunes for it... Crazy cool IMO

Like Matt sai before, if it was something majorly serious, it would have popped the light. It's running the same as it always has, which means like shit, LOL. I bought some electronic spray cleaner, gonna clean the MAF tomorrow morning. Also threw a can of Seafoam in the tank this morning after I filled up, gonna let it run it's course.

Anyone used the seafoam through a vaccum line like it says? I'm not in any way sure how to do that.
