Talking Weird but true

It's a tragic twist on the much-mocked "I've fallen, and I can't get up" TV ad.

The FDA has put out a warning after receiving reports that some elderly people who wore the MedicAlert necklaces had choked themselves when the cord got stuck on other objects as they fell.

They suggest that people should ask their doctors whether they should switch to the bracelet version of the device.

He finally got a life.

A Florida man who had put together the world's largest rubber-band ball -- weighing more than 1,000 pounds -- has given it up.

Joel Waul, 28, sold the ball to Ripley's Believe It Or Not! for an undisclosed sum.

Ripley's removed the ball with a crane and a flatbed truck.

***

This guy should just stick to huffing gas.

Michigan firefighters worked for four hours to free a man whose hand had become trapped in his car's gas tank when he stuck it down there to try clearing a piece of paper that had fallen inside.

"He's a little embarrassed," said a friend.

***

Twelve hot Mormon moms -- and, no, they are not all married to the same man -- have become sexy calendar babes to raise money for breast-cancer research.

The "Hot Mormon Muffins" calendar features the "Devout Dozen," touting recipes and striking seductive poses.

***

A dead-drunk hedgehog was hospitalized after he was found rolling around in an orchard after eating a pile of fermented apples in Britain.

The prickly little ball -- nicknamed "Tipsy" by rescuers in Devon -- was "squealing loudly" when found.

He was taken to the Prickly Ball Hedgehog Hospital (no, we didn't make that up -- Google it if you don't believe us) and woke up with a staggering hangover.
