Default Gas gauge issues

Hey Guys having an issue with my gas gauge. When im driving the low fuel light will come on and the needle on the gauge will bottom out. Sometimes it will correct itself if I turn it off for awhile and sometimes it will correct itself over a period of time. Bottom line i could just get gas and the thing will read full and bottom out all of a sudden.

P.S im not losing any gas

this seems to be a common problem
mostly reported is that when filling up the needle will not go to full for some time

if you have dual tanks its the selector switch on the dash

if not try this; disconnect the battery and reseat the relays in the fuse boxes; you may find one loose; look under the hood and in the kick box inside; not sure where this one is located

jiggle them around and then plug them back in
it can't hurt

PS: as far as not losing gas, try eating more collard greens & black eyes; it well help loosen you up

If its the 04 your profile mentions, your probably looking at a sending unit on its last leg, or a bare wire.

I would have to go with a bad sending unit, however, Joey may be on to something.
