the rear tank is 19 gal
the side tank depends if you have EEC or not
could be 20 or 22 gals

EEC?

1978 Didn't have EEC, they had the Duraspark II Ignition system.

19.2 Rear, 17.3 to 18.6 Gallons Saddle Tank IIRC.

Moved this btw to the 78-91 Forum.

Yes the '73 - '79 had EEC get out your code book for those years

I disconnected and plugged it on my '77

EEC is Electronic Engine Control, it's what the EFI engine's used. What you unplugged was the ICM for the Duraspark II ignition system, little square box with two plugs coming off of it. Nothing on the engines on 1973-1979's was controlled by a computer.

WRONG, EEC = Evaporitive Emission Control for the model years 1973 - 1979
what I unplugged was the extra fuel line from the gas tank to the canister that was next to the battery going to the carb

EEC can mean either. There weren't any electronic engine controls till 1981, the first year of O2 sensors. Evap controls started in 1971.
