Default Turbo trouble

I have a 2008 f-250 6.4 twin turbo, a couple of weeks ago both turbos quit working (found them full of oil) so I had them rebuilt. They were reinstalled and two weeks later they occasionally stop whistling, the turbo pressure drops to zero and smoke comes out from underneath the hood. If you keep driving they turn back on for a while and this goes on over and over. Does this have something to do with the EGR or is it something else, please help.

Not trying to chase you away, but I think you can get much better advice on a dedicated Powerstroke forum. Is it possible the engine is going into regen when this is happening? I know that can be a pain in the ass, my nephew had a 08 that stuck in regen and cooked the DPF. It was a software issue.
