Default Engine Swap

Has anyone here accomplished or attempted to do a CAT engine swap? I can get my hands on a C7 CAT engine with Allison transmission. I would love to retro fit it to work in the F250. Think this can be accomplished fairly easily?

Only swap I ever saw was a CAT3208 in a 77 F250. I'm sure with enough time and massaging, it shouldn't be too bad.

Just got off the phone with a local mechanic, and he said it is not possible. I would have to find a 650 or 750 donor chasis

I also have a 7.3 that I want to toss in it. I literally just had the transmission and transfer case rebuilt last week. Would I be able to use the current transmission and transfer case with this 7.3?
Has anyone here done this swap? I have some questions for ya if you have.

The 460 and 7.3 use different bellhousing patterns. The 460 uses the 385 Big Block V8 pattern, the 7.3 uses the IDI pattern. I don't know if there's an adapter made for this or whether you can do some mods to get it to fit. If you can find a E4OD from a 7.3 4wd that should work. I do not know what is involved electronically - the E4OD does require a TCM, which I think is integrated with your PCM. It looks like the diesel has a standalone TCM.

I see all kinds of adapters for a Cummins to a E4OD, they aren't cheap.
