Bubble foil insulation and high temp tape. I've had it for about 1.5 years with no problems yet.

I gotta swap mine out too, and mine(stock)is right under the hood, I'll snap a pic tomorrow when I do my PCV Re-Route, I keep a buttload of rubber hoses on hand just in case.

Well just got done re-routing my PCV Valve, boy what a b!tch that was, I had to stretch myself just to plug the BB in where the PCV went but it's all done! The old PCV hose was cracked beyond recognition, I started it and it seemed to run a little smoother now that it's got new hose on it.
Here is where the factory air box breather is routed to on a 87-91 5.0L:


Here is the hose I got out of the hose bin:


Damn near 6ft of Oil Cooler hose I got at a yard sale for fitty cent.

No, on the back of the upper intake is a bent vacuum nipple, just plug the break booster into that nipple(where the PCV hooked up) and plug the PCV into where the booster was.
