Default How An Engine Works (56k...no way)

I ran across this on another forum, pretty spiffy...



89 F-150 5.0l AOD 2x4, 3.55 LS(+4), Converted to HO Roller, 3g Alt, GT40Ps, Y-pipe, Rerouted PCV, Dual Taurus E-fans, Explorer Injectors, Remote ICM, DIY Cold air, Rubber Vacuum System, Tranny cooler, Remote Tranny filter, Saginaw P\S swap, F350 Brakes, more.

That boiling/freezing data for coolant is for pure ethylene glycol at atmospheric pressure, not for a 50/50 mixture at 15 psi over atmospheric.

50/50 at 15 psi freezes at -34 F and boils at about 270 F. At atmospheric it boils at 225 F and you add 3 F for every 1 psi.

70/30 coolant freezes at about -82 F and the curve jumps back up after that.
