Default Fueling Issue

I have a 93 F250 HD, and I am having a hard time fueling up. It seems as though every single time I go to refuel, I have to fuel up at a stupid slow rate. Even when I try to set the pump at the first click, it will just shut off.
I did a little research on the web and everything I am reading is that I need to lower the spare tire, take the evap filter down and clean it out. Is this right? Has anyone here had the same issue?

Has anyone come up with a solution to the wellback issue when fueling these trucks?

You need to make sure the hose to the canister isn't plugged. It may be a simple fix.
