Default Georgia, Rifle Deer Season 10/17/09 - 01/15/10

With one of the highest annual whitetale harvest in North America, Georgia is a reliable place to fill your freezer with venison. Deer numbers remain fairly low in the mountians, but there is no shortage in the wooded Piedmont region or the coastal plane. Most of the top Bucks come from the Southern half of the state where there are more farms.
with a population hovering around 1.6 million, lets get out there and help to prevent those Deer vehicle collisions, if you dont want the venison there are pleanty of places throughout the state to donate, " Hunters Feeding the Hungry "

"If your too busy to go hunting then your just to busy"

"next time you go, take a kid hunting or fishing"

I'll be looken for another one of these

read again Alex, 12 deer total, 10 Does and 2 bucks, and 1 of the bucks has to have at least 4 points on one side, more than 1" long. If hunting in a Quality Deer County, both buck must have a minimum of 4 points on one side 1" or longer, or minimum 15" outside spread. Check your County reguirements

Georgia's liberal bag limit & long season, is one of the reasons Georgia has one of the highest harvest rates in North America
Total season length, to include archery, muzzel loader, rifle
Deer - 12 Sept thru 15 Jan
Bear - 12 Sept thru 6 Dec

we get one buck, which, in most areas, have to have a one inch horn on one side. You can buy raffle tickets for an additional buck in named areas and tickets for a doe in a named area, but you have to buy those tickets last spring.......
