Default Deer Hunting 2012-2013 season

this is on the 850 acres I got about 50 miles South of Atlanta, Meriwether County; this is one of Georgia's Big Deer Countys and the State makes all Hunters in this and several other Countys adheare to Quailty Deer Management Regulations (basically no shooting of Bucks less than 8 points or an inside antler spread of less than 15 inches) some people find it hard to get Bucks to stand still long enough so they can measure their antlers LOL; if you can see daylight between the ears and antlers he's a possible shooter

by following the QDM regs, and letting the young bucks walk you end up with Deer that have this potential, the intention of the State

got the food plots killed of weeds 2 weeks ago with herbacide

burned and harrowed yesterday

seed in the ground yesterday & today before the rain gets here Monday - Wednesday

this is what I will be seeing about mid November (taken 2 years ago)

I have been seeing a Momma and little one about every other day
I keep think about that young tender meat
but I would hate to shoot it and find out its a buck that could possibly grow up to be a trophy
there is just know way to sex one at a young age with spots
so it shall be life

and shooting the Momma would hurt the little one during its early months, by depriving it of learning to fend for its self.
so it shall be life for Momma

I have not seen the 3 Bucks since the season started, case in point to above; they must of had a good Momma and learned to check the Hunting Regs as to when to go into hiding and only venture out at night

I had been seeing a Very nice 8 pointer with a lesser 8 & 6 pointer in tow, of course this will all change when the Rut kicks in.

Uhhhh NO! I stick them in one alive then cut the heads so the meat doesnt get bruised from thrashing. Then skin them and keep the liver, heart, and cut the wings off. Gotta pluck the wings. Sit them in the fridge in salt water overnight, then whole chicken or cut up to the freezer next day. I dont eat livers so mom gets all the "viddles". I have 23 cornish Xrocks to get in the freezer. 1/2 mine.....1/2 moms. She has all my egg layers at her house and I have all the meat birds here. She or her husband (cant stand the sight or smell of blood) cant put them in the freezer.
