using a 4 speed ratchet top, that's in good shape
got 'Alto' carbonite plates & steels and 'Barnett' blue springs
going with a 22T trans sprocket & 51T rear
should pull real good, kinda like a 4:11
RPM's should be around 3000 @ 71 mph, that is kinda high compared to your 6 speed

here's the cyphering

Hey Skate,
got another bike
my 2nd ever non Panhead / Shovelhead

1997 FXD Super Glide
one owner (he is 88yo), 4,2xx miles, new set of old tires (i ditched)
just put new set of Avon Cobra Chromes on
been sitting for 7 years, many added accessories (chrome stuff and HD seat, Screaming Eagle pipes & carb, all records ), plus he gave me all the original takeoffs

couldn't pass up the price $5000

did the required stuff, fluid changes, drain & flush tank, did same to crankcase and such, new battery
fired right up
this one I will keep

I had to change the oil & filter a 2nd time after the first start up (those front mounted oil filters are a bitch to get off and they making a mess) I went with a K&N filter with the 17mm nut on the end
as sitting all those years the oil leaked past the check ball and fill the bottom end

I added 3 qts with new filter and started it up, rode for 20 miles then checked the oil, it was about to come out of the fill plug
all the old oil in the bottom end mixed with the new oil (sure glad I didn't mess something up)

already changed the bars (drag bars with 4" pullback risers) and changed back to the original seat (it sits back 1" further) and much more comfortable, and got rid of that funky back rest, my leg kept hitting it (can't lift it as high as I used to)

the only thing i don't like is; it sit to high and looks like a Sportster
