The most common SAS axles are the dana 44 and the dana 60. For us to suggest an axle to you, you have to tell us what you plan on doing with your truck! I am currently working on swapping a d44 into my truck. ASwaff400 already completed his d44 swap and then there is also Klitch and Dixie who have done swaps as well.

What rear axle do you have, an 8.8? What is your lug pattern and spacing? That will also be something to think about when swapping axles.

I think on that year truck a D44 would be much more direct swap, unless you want to do the matching rear as well.

Default solid axle

do to the weight of the truck you want to stay with a DANA 60 ..
If you arent in a hurry and keep checking around you can find one that came out of a 87-97 f 350 . THE 87-88-89 f350 all had the heavy duty version .And if you find one that has the springs on it that will be a PLUS for the simple fact that to put a solid axle under your truck you WILL need springs . That will give you a instant 5 inches of lift ..
Hope this helps you any others ? we are just a click away

I would go with a dana 60 from a 87-97 f-350. Should pretty much bolt in and you will have the correct bolt pattern for your wheels. I would think you will be able to use the springs that are in your truck now. I cant see the f350 one being much if any different

I think your 95 has the newer brakes...do you remove your calipers with two 13mm bolts? If so, you will want a donor axle from a 95 or newer. This lets you service your calipers if needed and add longer brake lines now so you don't have to do it during the swap.

Don't get side tracked by conversations about king pin and ball joints unless you are going to do serious off roading with it.

My thread linked in my signature may be of help but there are some other really good threads out there too.
