Man I really like the volant cai. Dont want to jump off topic but I had a question. i've done some simple searches for a cai for my 94' ranger 4.0L and I really dont find any. Now that is useing the "Pick a year, Make, Model" searchv option and they really narrow it all out. I just visited 4wheelparts and looked and they didnt even have a ranger as an option for most things. I was wondering why is this? and there has to be a cai for another truck that will fit the ranger right?

Only thing I noticed Webby was it make my check book lighter. Didn't notice one bit of performace difference, except now combined with the Edge and my 40 Series Flowmaster, I get a god aweful drone between 1950-2075 RPM.

I get that drone to Vinny... it's right before the truck either needs to drop out of O/D and gear up or let off the gas. That may be the "running lean" issue - as it sounds like the engine is really strained.

Waiting on my custom tunes to see if that solves the problem.

What lvl are you running? the Gryphon guys said to run Tow (lvl 2) until the custom tunes are ready...

Hey Ted, yeah, it's sometimes annoying, but like you said, letting off the gas slightly, makes it go away, or even pressing a lil more.

It's less apparent since I got my exhaust welded up and the rattling heatshield removed, but I can always tell where in the RPM range I'm at by the sound.

I switch between lvl 2 & 3, depending on the cost of 93 octane. I notice it WAY more in lvl 2. The low end torque keeps the truck around that range more than on lvl 3.

I deal with it, turn the radio up and drive.

:)

Banks Ram Air CAI

Please excuse the dirty engine.

One of the best investments I did to my truck was the CAI, wouldn't drive it without it.
