Default Gear oil.

What should I use? What weight, is mystik good?
I don't have much money to spend, but I also don't want to cheap out and ruin the gears.
Friction modifier, can I use this.. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...T|GRP2035_____
Or should I get the ford stuff?
Also should I use rtv and a gasket when putting the cover on or just the gasket?

Default

read this it will answer more questions and the one on the other thread

http://www.fordtruckclub.net/forum/s...ead.php?t=2992

I use friction modifer by Auburn Gear and 90w gear oil
I like the Black Gasket Sealer as it is better in oily enviroments
and I do both sides of the gasket (very thin bead) let it set a minute and tighten easy in criss cross rotation

some later years did not use a gasket

take your time and work smart and safe dont get stuff in your eyes
