Default 1985 F150 Rebuild thread

This is the thread for my new to me 1985 F150, specs are 302 converted to carburetor, AOD, 8.8, Cragar wheels, dual tanks, longbed.

Plans are that if the knock can be fixed IE: it's a pushrod(tappet) knock I'll put on some new rocker arms and pushrods, if not the 302 will be pulled in favor of a 300 hopefully or it will be a parts truck, the tag expired in 06.

I'll add pics of this if I'm able to get my friend with a wrecker out to pick it up tomorrow, $75 aint bad at all as far out as it is.

I thought you said it was EFI? I wonder what all they did to bypass it all. You know if the rear is LSD?

yeah I corrected myself in the "what did you do to your truck thread" IDK yet if it's LS, I know it still has some plastic vac hoses and the coil packs on the driverside valve cover..

Hmmm, sounds interesting, I'm hooked. Whats the door code on the axle?

Didn't check, I had to worry about matching the Vin # and bullshitting with the guy about his AR-15 and AK.

I have no clue. I do know that the guy we bought it from bought it about a year ago, was told it needed the rear main replaced, pulled the tranny replaced the rear main, filled it with oil and then started it and it was knocking. He parked it and the wife was tired of the "lawn ornament" so we bought it for $400 and I think I got a steal.

I found a used 351w shortblock for $100 here locally, it is an '81 block, all I should need is an AOD 351w flexplate I believe.
