The deed is done !! Altho it was a PITA, I've done worse.

My friend with the shop and lift I was planning on using, got flooded with work and that left me in the driveway at the house. The weather here in Indy has been nice so I dug in and used the "in vehicle service" method from the 1992 engine service manual, which is basicly the same thing he described to me.

I had already ripped off all of the exhaust piping and manifolds so there was a pretty good head start. I removed the Rad and fan shroud, unbolted the motor and tranny mounts, jacked up the motor and trans high enough to get small blocks of 2x4 under all of the mounts, dropped the pan down on the cross member, unbolted the oil pump and pick up tube and dropped it in the pan. At this point you can weasel out the pan. I found my pan was very rusty between the paint and the metal, so I bought a new pan from Advance along with a Fel-Pro one piece silicone gasket, and new oil pump. Reversed the disassembly and drank several beers.

Bring 'em on Rick. Some super guys that will help you out. I was reading some service bullitins on the webb a while back and a lot of problems with rusted oil pans. I'll see if I can dig that up again.
