Hi Big Orange, this is an 8.8 rear axle thread, if you'll create a separate thread for you question someone should answer it!

Default Got me an axle!

So, here's an update from page 4, post #40. Granted it took 4 years and some change to post, but I now have a 95 xploder axle. The only downside, it's not an LS. I purchased the axle January of this year for $100.

31 splines, 3.55 open (same as what's in the stRanger), and disc brakes.

Apparently, I've been reading that I won't have to adjust anything with the brake system with the disc brakes. I'd still like to find me a LS to put in with the same gear ratio.

I have purchased an axle swap kit that included the leaf spring perches, shock mounts, leaf spring bolt plates, and u-bolts. I had to modify the shock mounts because they were not cut on the correct side to weld onto the axle tube. Pinion angle is either 5.9 or 5.4*. So, I'll be welding the perches to match the angle I figure to be the right one.

I've already ground off the explorer sway bar mounts.
