Default Blemised Tires??

Hey everyone, I asked this question to Matt and Webby and Bates, and want to get some more opinions about this subject.

I ran into a seller on eBay who sells new and factory blemished tires. Specifically, he has Cooper Discoverer STTs in my size, 325-6-18 for $200 a tire.

I email Cooper and they emailed me back saying they carry a blem warranty which is essentially the same as a new warranty on their tires, as long as they are purchased through an authorized dealer, which she said he was.

I was concerned about these things seperating or blowing out, and she said they are branded "blemished" on the sidewall. A blemish could be cosmetic, a slight variation in a part of the tread, or strictly a balance tolerance that will be high, meaning it will require more weight to balance. With larger tires though, balancing is usually never perfect.

So I ask, do you guys think this is a good deal? It's quite a savings, almost $300 and I'm on an extremely tight budget right now.

Would anyone stay away? Why? Am I good to go? Thoughts? Opinions? Comments?

Here is the specific auction I am looking at:

Thanks everyone.

Let the budget do the talking, not us. If the blem tire is covered by the manufacturer... whats the problem? The manufacturer I am sure would not sell a tire that is unsafe to drive with. Visually it might not pass their standards but physically, I am sure it is just fine.

I would go for it if it is covered.

I have to agree, a company in these days will most likely not sell a tire that could physically be a concern or problem. They dont like lawsuits. I'd buy blems myself

That's what I'm thinking, and also with gov't standards being so high, they wouldn't be allowed to sell anything that would potentially harm a person or vehicle.

I have to check back with him, he said he didn't have a full set in stock right now, but they come in all the time.

Blems r fine . They have misshaped areas on tread or lettering messed up . Still good tires .

After having some BFg's (5600 miles ) and Generals fail me new. I only buy no name or blem tires if I can find used

HA! HA! I'm a supporting member and you're not!
