Default SEMA 2010 Preview: Hulst Customs 2011 Ford F-350

By Mike Levine and Robby DeGraff of Pickuptrucks.com

Transforming a 2011 Ford F-350 into a full-size toolbox-themed truck is what Jason Hulst of Hulst Customs plans to accomplish for Oshkosh, Wis.-based Snap-On Tools.

Take a glimpse at this SEMA concept rendering, and you?ll recognize the mighty F-350 Super Duty Lariat Crew Cab 4X2 dually has been tastefully transformed.

While the 400 horsepower, 800 pounds-feet of torque 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 turbo-diesel engine remains unchanged, Hulst Customs adds on a DJM suspension kit consisting of front Dream Beams and a rear flip kit.

Planned modifications include Hulst Customs? new rear fenders and front fender flares; a sleek hood scoop; revised two-bar grille and front fascia with LED side markers; side rockers with modified running boards; a rear bed lid spoiler; and new side fender vents, cab lights on top. Lift up the Gaylord?s fiber-glass truck bed lid to find a minitub in the rear bed, a Snap-On toolbox and, of course, a bumping stereo system. Open the crew cab?s doors and immerse yourself in a luxurious cabin appointed with Katzkin leather seats complete with Snap-On embroidery, a leather headliner and matching painted interior panels. Cabin entertainment is provided by a Sony Xplod stereo system with a DVD head unit up front, four bass-pounding subwoofers, two sets of component speakers and one set of 6x9 speakers all powered by four amps. There?s also a monitor in each headrest and a 22-inch flat-panel monitor (which, we presume, drops down from the headliner).

Finishing off the Snap-On tools F-350 is a custom Planet Color two-tone Candy Red over pearl white paint job. This tough truck will wear a set of 24-inch American Force one-off rims exclusively designed for Snap-On, wrapped in six 305/35-24 Pirelli Scorpion tires.

Hulst Customs is a design and fabrication shop building high end hot rods, street rods, and customs. Located in Merlin, Oregon, Hulst Customs has been building award winning automobiles for over 30 years, including the Striker F-150 and F-350 custom pickups that debuted at the 2008 SEMA Show.

We?ll check out the finished truck at this year's SEMA show next month.
