Slave Cylinder Spacing
|
So on my M5R2, the clutch is a little soft. By the time the clutch fully engages the pedal is on the floor. I've been driving it this way, but I know once it gets some wear on it, it's gonna start grinding while shifting. Will there be an issue if I put some washers behind the slave? I'm thinking this will give me more "meaningful" travel with my pedal. Thoughts?

Is your slave internal or external?

The only adjustments you can do are at the pedal and the master cylinder. Have you tried reverse or power bleeding it?

I did bleed it after install. The push for on the master wasn't adjustable best I remember. I'll check tomorrow though. Right now I have about 1/3 pedal that does nothing. And the rest is real soft engagement until the floor.

The pushrod is not adjustable, but you should be able to rig something up at the pedal end. You may need to either power bleed it or reverse bleed it.

Gotcha. I didn't get the opportunity to mess with it this past weekend. I'll see if the local O'Reily's has a power bleeder I can rent. I did try the reverse bleed originally, but couldn't get a good enough seal around the bleeder valve to keep it from leaking, so we did it the old fashioned way, which obviously wasn't quite good enough.
