Default Frame width on 86 and older.

Could someone who has an 86 give me the correct measurement on the frame where the bumper brackets are? From inside of bracket to inside of bracket if that helps more. I'm trying to see if a non-step bumper will fit my 93. I also need the measurement from lower back part of fender as it wraps around to the back and goes behind bumper. From side to side of lower back part of truck bumper will cover. Thanks

Frank - you left alot of important info out of the equation to get you what you wanted - years, type, model, so on.. so forth .. but give this a try. Hope its gets you closer.

Do you have the non-step bumper? or have access to one?

Thanks Hawaiian, just had already been a long day. No big T, not yet. I thought If I could get the measurements for a 85 back to 81-82 of the frame outside to outside and body width at or above top of bumper line when mounted, I'd see how much or how little difference there is. Can buy bumper new, it's the brackets that I hear are hard to find. What about a van my year (93)? Just thought of that.

Yeah J, I have an LMC and I have noted the years for the non-step bumper. I have wondered if it would fit. Is the only reason LMC offers it for the years it came on trucks does that absolutely mean it won't fit a 87-96? Sometimes you don't know until you try. Thanks for the help. I have looked at the link provided Hawaiian. Thanks

With a welder anything can fit
If you get a new bumper and the mounting brackets anyone of them will fit for many years before and after your model year.
Unless you have a stepside.

That was my thought Russo. Ford sometimes done come crazy things. A good interchange manual would help on a lot of questions people have on what will fit etc.
