Default F350 Purchase

Hello everyone, I am a newbie & ready to purchase. I will be buying, probably my last truck, so I'm going to try to get it right. So my question is, what engine & yr from 2008 to 2018 is your preference & what should I be aware of, while finding it?Any & all help is appreciated.

If you can afford it, buy a new one. If you need a diesel, get a 6.7 diesel, 2011 or newer. If not, the new 7.3 gas engine is more powerful than the 6.2. However, the 6.2 is a good reliable engine. The 2008-2010 V10 gas engine is excellent. The 5.4 is underpowered. The 6.4 diesel is a headache.

Just avoid 6.4.

The rest are fine motors. I would certainly go diesel in a truck this big. The low down torque is really nice and gets it moving extremely well, much better than a gasser.

If you want a diesel, get a 2011 or newer 6.7, the newer the better. Note that 2017 and newer have aluminum bodies.

You need to go 15 and newer because of the upgrade to the turbos.
