Default TV via computer???

Has anyone tried this? I have been getting advertisements via email to get TV through your computer I find it intriging. It sounds like there is a one time fee.

back in the early to mid 90's our packard bell actually had a cable input. was pretty sweet to watch regular tv on the computer while doing other stuff...

I know a good amount of newer computers are coming with TV tuners built in. I believe most Macs have them along with some more well known PC brands. I don't know exactly how you would get the tv signal, whether you have to hook a cable into it or you would get it through your internet connection. For me, I don't think I would ever use it...but I can see it being useful for some people. If you decide to get it, let us know how it is!

slight disconnect here. you guys are thinking of TV tuners, the type of TV he is talking about actually sounds streamed via internet.
TV tuners run off an actual signal, be it old analog, or digital through a coax cable from some sort of set-top box.

I'm pretty sure the signal comes through the internet, so I could cancel the cable company. I haven't done it but I know I can use a monitor cable to hook my laptop to my LCD TV.

i've been thinking about doing this too, BUT, i have two TV's and i want one to be able to record two shows at once. meaning i would need 3 signals, another tuner.

Looks like it has recording ability. The price is right. I have contacted their customer service with questions but will have to wait for answers.
