Point being that just tweeters do not provide a full 20hz-20,000hz spectrum of sound. They will usually only produce sounds of 12,000hz and above. A high hat crash symbol and sorts, no spoken word. Midranges handle the words and guitar, subwoofers handle bass.

With a full range of speakers, you will not recreate a full sound ambiance. If you plan on running all sound through the tweeters, they will last probably around 20-60 minutes before they blow, a little longer if they are a good quality product.

Before you buy anything, please explain to us what it is you are trying to achieve with your audio system. Normally people do not start buying tweeters until they have nice subs and mids to go along with the tweeters.

Your first stop may be just to replace your stock speakers with better ones. Can you give us some info please so we can provide you with the best solution.

!. What is your current stereo setup? (headunit, speakers, amps etc.)
2. What are you looking to achieve sound wise?
3. What is your budget?

two 12's and 1500 watts! That can be serious right there!

If I had a stock truck, I may look to get a touch screen headunit that can play DVD's and navigation. After that, my next step would be to replace the stock speakers with better ones. After that, I would look into subs and amps and maybe tweeters. I have had three sets of dome tweeters and have blown all of them out. Currently I dont have any tweeters!

Brands, I only use Alpine products. Though I am looking to get me a JL audio 13" low profile sub in the near future.
