Question F250, or Bronco Front Axle on my 97 F150

I've been thinking of getting a solid front axle from either an F250, or a Bronco (I'll be getting both axles from the vehicle). my truck rides on a 2.5" leveling kit. I was told that I'll need a 7" lift so the diff doesn't hit the engine block, but can't i just use some leave springs then call it a day?(i know its not that simple) will i need to change the transfer case to match the front diff? would i need to beef up my engine and trans? If so, how? I'm not gonna be rock climbing i just want to hit some trails, go to the beach, hull an 18ft trailer. my true question is... once i get the front axle what else would i need to complete this build?

I moved your thread to the SAS section.
Take a look at Klitch's thread on this exact thing.
