Default door ajar?

for some reason when it gets hot out my interior and door ajar light stay on. im not even sure where to start. i know my doors are closed so thats not a problem. it may be from water damage. the rear window slider had a crack in the assembly piece or what ever it was a recall. any help would be appriecated.

The actual door latch mechanism in the door. I had the same problem with the stRanger. The switch is co-located with the latch, and spritzing it with WD-40 will solve the problem. Squirt, squirt, and squirt a little more, then open and close a few times to "work" the swich. Seems like the years 97-03 F150's and Rangers had this problem. Try it out and report back!

And no, it's just a door.

Or maybe an access panel, but ajar it is not!

A hinged access panel...

IT WORKED!! YAY!!! thanks guys. this has been buggin the heck out of me for the longest time! its a good weight of my shoulders i thought i was going to have to pay big bucks to fix it. its just weird it only does it when its really hot out. i would think it would be worse in the winter.
