Default 1974 F250 (Highboy)

I recently got a 1974 F250 manual. I am wondering what should be the first things I check/repair to make it road worthy. In the future I plan on making this a project truck.

Some of your answers will depend on how long the truck has been sitting before you got it. Me personally, I would change the oil, and coolant in the engine. And probably drain the front and rear diff gear oil to make sure it's not full of water. Not sure if you've ever been in a moving vehicle when a tie rod comes apart,...but the end result isn't good. Check all your steering components, and brakes. Just a few places to start.
