Default Exhaust Gas temperature monitoring

I have a 2015 F250 super duty diesel truck for pulling my 13000lb 5th wheel trailer. Do I need to add EGT monitoring to protect my engine or does the engine management computer do that adequately?

Would welcome your thoughts on the topic.

You should be good with factory sensors which btw I feel are overkill. I had one of those EGT sensors take a crap on me in a F350 dually with the old 6.4. Couldn't drive it till sensor was replaced.
