Default Help me identify which Trim/Model F250 based on pics

Hi-- we hope you F250 experts can help us. (is this site the same as fordforum.com? if so, i've posted there, too)

We have a truck that no longer has original papers, and since we're going to sell it, we need to know the exact "Trim" package. Unfortunately, decoding the VIN (1FTNW21P84EB61779) doesn't help, because the decoding doesn't help identify whether it's a Extended Cab or Super Crew Cab, or XLT, LT, Lariat, etc. Also, there were 2 lengths: 82" and 98" -- is that the outside measurement of the bed, or the inside? What differentiates the XLT from the LT?

That's where the pictures come in. The link takes you to our photos on the shutterfly website. Hopefully the pics show everything you need to help us identify it. If not, pls let us know what you'd need to see. Note: the F550 plate on it is NOT ORIGINAL-- it was switched-- the truck is definitely an F250.

It does include the following features: back-up assist (4 eyes), cruise control, cloth seats, fold-down split cab seats, adjustable pedals.

Also, any suggestions on how much the customization (not done by us) add would be much appreciated! (38" wheels, brake assist, sound system, tow hitch in bed, some gizmo that fiddles w/fuel mix, etc.)

Thank you in advance!

This is a very odd thread here...

I must ask, how did you go about getting your hands on this truck? Also, the registration and insurance paperwork should have most of the info you are looking for right on it. The modifications done to the truck are good mods but rarely does a mod add value to a vehicle. What is the mileage and how much tread is left on the tires?

Have you checked ebay for trucks that look the same as this one? Again, this is a very odd post!

Default response to "an odd post"

Hi--
Yes, it's odd, because of the truck's history.
1- it was purchased used in 2005/6 for an employee of my BF's company.
2- the employee left the company, promised to continue making the payments, and moved from CA to ID. he stopped making payments May of this year. we took back the truck last weekend and found he did massive customizations; plus he didn't return the truck's papers, and we have no documention of the equipment he installed.
3- the insurance and registration don't show anything more than F250 Super Duty. No mention of XL/XLT etc.

about 154,000 miles, tread is still a good 3/8" before hitting the wear bars.

wanted to know what trim/model it was before researching in ebay.

thanks for asking, and thanks for your help!

So my question to you, who's name is the title of the truck under? Company, husband, friend/co-worker?

Default answer to question of "title"

the Title is in my BF's name. that's how we were able to repossess it. (My BF owns the company.)

So what original paperwork do you need? In your first post you wrote that
the truck no longer has the original paperwork. It really doesn't get more
original than the vehicles title!

No worries! Let's try to figure out all the upgraded parts on the truck.

First thing I noticed, it has a switch on the fly tuner from Banks.
You may be able to call them and give them the vin number or the previous
owners name and they should be able to give you all the info on the tunes.

I also saw a Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Proportional Brake Controller.

Pro Comp XTREME All Terrain A/T Radial tires... the rims look like they could
be Pro Comp 8101 series wheels. I would need a better picture to verify.

I see airbags, aftermarket exhaust tip, no picture of underneath so I don't
know if it has a complete exhaust system or just a new tip. Worth finding
out, and it looks like a custom grille.

I noticed some aftermarket amp in the truck, looks like it might be a 400w
Power Acoustik amp. I need a better picture of it. The head unit (the radio)
is missing its faceplate so I have no clue what it is.

There are vent visors on the doors as well. The truck may also have either
a suspension lift or a body lift, I am not sure. I would need better pictures.

I hope this helps. Is there any chance of uploading the pictures to this site
so that more people can check them out? And down the road, know what
We were talking about!

I also noticed aftermarket fender flares. They may be from Bushwacker.

Just figured out how to post pics on this page. Hopefully they're showing up.
Sorry for the misunderstanding-- by "original papers" I meant the Owner's Manual and the manuals for the upgrades.

Will take more pics tomorrow. for now, i just want to see if i can get the pics with the text working.
