Default Troyer Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit

Troyer Performance Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit for 2004 & up Ford F-150, other F-series & Expedition
PPI-EFK1604 Troyer Performance Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit for 2004 & up Ford F-150 featuring our new custom-fabricated mounting brackets!!

Fits 2004 & up new body style F-series and Expedition, including CAN (Controller Area Network) vehicles like the 2004 & newer F-150!

The kit all you new body style F-150 owners have been waiting for with our new custom fabricated mounting brackets is now shipping, with many 2004 thru 2008 F-150 owners already enjoying it!

This kit includes a pair of our most powerful 16" Electric Fans, for years of rugged long-term durability and ultra-high CFM flow thru the radiator. Each fan has it's own fully integrated shroud, featuring the most efficient airfoil "reverse S" shape - and these fan blades are fully enclosed within the integrated shroud to prevent potential for injury if you put your hand in the wrong place underhood, or lean over the radiator with a necktie on, etc., unlike other kits on the market that use exposed fan blades!

These fans mount to our new custom fabricated mounting brackets and then drop in and attach to your radiator as an assembly, making for a much easier & quicker installation. This electric fan kit conversion eliminates the need for the restrictive factory fan shroud, which in turn also frees up a significant amount of additional room under the hood, allowing vastly increased underhood airflow, lowering inlet air temperatures for further power gains, especially in warmer weather.

Each of these specially-wound 2775 CFM electric fans has it's own fully independent & adjustable Fan Controller, so you can use a different temperature thermostat if desired. There is no need to change to a different temperature thermostat unless you want to, we are simply allowing you the flexibility to dial in the turn-on temperatures based on whatever temperature of thermostat you use! (For street-driven vehicles we recommend not using a colder thermostat.)

This kit also gives you complete redundant capabilities - in the unlikely event that a fuse, fan or controller fails, the vehicle is NOT disabled as it is with other electric fan kits - you'll still have the other fan & controller working to get you home, as this is in fact two complete cooling systems!

This Dual Electric Fan Kit is configured in the same manner as seen in high-end automobiles such as Mercedes, Corvettes, etc - the configuration is designed for a "Low Temperature" fan and a "High-Temperature" fan automatically controlled in a "staggered" turn-on arrangement to provide proper cooling under any conditions, and to keep the start-up amperage draw on your vehicle's electrical system to a minimum. Because of that, this kit can be used even if you do not have the optional 130 amp alternator on your F-150 for example, and even if you have underdrive pulleys, too! In fact, most of our customers using this fan kit are also using our Underdrive Pulleys as well, to pick up every bit of power possible from reducing "parasitic" losses.

Each of the Fan Controllers has it's own independent "dry" temperature probe that installs easily in seconds between the fins of your radiator, thus eliminating the need for draining the engine coolant to install a "wet" style temperature probe - this also allows for true full redundancy, because each fan has it's own controller, which in turn has it's own temperature probe, for *true* full redundancy - which is generally not available on other kits!

One of the Electric Fans is also automatically activated any time you turn on the vehicle's Air Conditioning, for increased cabin cooling efficiency in hot summer weather, particularly when the vehicle has been sitting in the hot sun.

This kit comes with a very thorough installation manual that is packed with detailed step-by-step instructions and pictures - the documentation is nothing short of excellent, and provides a much easier installation. Installation time is approximately 3-4 hours depending on your experience level and how quickly you work. Note: This kit is not hard to install, but it's nature does NOT allow it to be installed by a novice!! It simply requires experience working underhood doing mechanical work and minor wiring who can pay attention to detail. Installing this kit does NOT require a professional mechanic by any means, but it does require the installer to have some automotive experience & general knowledge of working under the hood of a vehicle. Installation involves mechanical work (removing the factory fan & shroud and installing the new electric fans & controllers), as well as some easy wiring (the wiring harnesses are color-coded) to connect the fans and the controllers to their power sources & grounds.

We provide all the hardware (bits & pieces, splice connectors, male & female terminals, etc.) needed to neatly install this kit, including high-temperature split-loom tubing to cover the insulated color-coded wiring harnesses for a factory-installed appearance!

The only tool you will need that might be thought of as a "special" tool is just something to measure the temperatures with so you can set the electric fan turn-on temperatures. This can be done in several ways, such as with a scan tool to read the Engine Coolant Temperature/Cylinder Head Temperature sensor's reading thru the OBD-II port - or you can use a simple hand-held infrared "point & shoot" type of thermometer so you can set the fan turn-on temperatures, etc. (We describe all of this in our documentation in great detail.) The Electric Fan turn-on temperatures can be set anywhere from as low as 160 degrees to as high as 240 degrees, allowing you to run a different temperature thermostat if you want, and the fans will turn off automatically once the temperature has dropped sufficiently.

Power gains from this kit run anywhere from a low of 12 RWHP to as much as 19 RWHP at the rear wheels, and throttle response is improved *everywhere* - at any speed, throttle position or rpm, thanks to completely eliminating the parasitic loss from the heavy factory mechanical fan & clutch assembly. And since the engine is no longer having to turn that heavy mass of the factory mechanical fan, there are usually some nice mpg improvements as well - a "win-win" type of modification! MPG gain reports range anywhere from a low of about 1.0 mpg to as much as 2.5 more mpg in the 2004 & up F-150 5.4 3V vehicles (your results will vary based on how the vehicle is operated & maintained, the terrain, fuel quality, etc.).

This system provides a whopping 5500+ CFM's (roughly double what is required for the new F-150's), enough to support the cooling needs of a 750+ HP supercharged engine in the hottest desert temperatures! This system has been thoroughly tested in numerous climate extremes and conditions, including testing in temperatures ranging from 30 degrees below zero (not including the wind chill!) all the way up to a blistering 117 degrees, and works like a champ in any weather.

No other kit on the market uses the kind of extremely high grade durable components with superior MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) ratings & other materials we use in this kit - there may be cheaper kits and many have tried to copy us using cheap components, but none can match the quality, ruggedness or long-term durability & reliability of our components, or the ease of our custom fabricated mounting brackets!

The Troyer Performance Dual 16" Electric Fan Kit for your new 2004 & up Ford F-series with ANY engine - a winning combination of both raw horsepower and torque gains at any throttle position, at any rpm, as well as the potential for nice improvements to fuel mileage - order yours today!

Important Note:
Gasoline engines generally make their absolute highest power output and get the best fuel mileage when the engine coolant temperature is in the 200-210 degree range. This is why your stock factory thermostat is generally a 192 degree unit, and why we recommend sticking with it in most cases. If you are doing any kind racing, or if you need to tow heavy loads in hot weather, etc., you can drop down to a 180 degree thermostat if you like & simply set the electric fan turn-on temperatures accordingly, thanks to the flexibility provided in this kit. We recommend that you DO NOT use any thermostat rated at lower than 180 degrees in these computer-controlled vehicles, or you will not get the best power or fuel economy, and might even experience driveability symptoms, MIL lights on the dash, loss of heater function in cold weather, etc.

I like the "our fans mount to our new custom fabricated mounting bracket"
the ones that use plastic ties to secure fan through the radiator fins
should be avoided
dont know about this new bracket but most others use the fins for support [no good, heap bad medicine]
