Default Official Junkyard Run Thread

Hey guys, I'm going to Springfield for an appointment on Monday and I figure I'll make a junkyard run while I'm there. I'll be getting stuff for my truck, and my buddy's truck (he'll be with me). His truck is a 91 F150 with a 300\E40D\2WD. I don't want anything huge like a new axle or anything like that, and a set of GT40s are in my future, but not yet. I already have a lot of stuff from the junkyard that I've cleaned up and used, heres a list:

Saginaw P\S pump\brackets, etc.
3G Alt.
Explorer Injectors
Thunderbird relay box with megafuse for 3G
2 Taurus E-fans
Explorer Transmission cooler (used as an oil cooler on my truck)
Very large tranny cooler (don't remember what it was from)
Explorer overhead console
Newer F150 Dome light
300\I6 intake tube
Oil pressure sender from a Pre-87 truck
Factory cluster with tach
F250 Springs
Grab (Oh sh*t) handle from something (can't remember)

That's about all I can think of, there's probably more. I always grab as many relays as I can carry, same with megafuses, normal fuses, etc. Anyone have any other ideas on what to grab? The only things I can think of is some diamond plat rail caps, a new arm rest, and a peice of trim that cracked when I put my spot light in . I'm trying to keep it as cheap as possible (as always), but let the ideas fly!

I usually try and find the owner's manuals and things as such, in my gallery I've got pics of a 1986 Ford F-Series and Bronco maintenance log and a Operator's manual I got from the Pull a Part.

I get headlight buckets, taillight lenses, I tried to get some Alcoa's last time but got into a fight over them and said screw it(they were $7 a wheel), steering wheels, basically any light lense that isn't cracked in case I need a spare.

well Booba, sounds like ya got it all covered and only you would know what you really need of course once you start looking you may come up with other items
you may want to get some muffler bearings for Russo

its seems like electrical items like relays & fuses come up often

on my '83 & '92 stock 300's, I've never had a problem with anything but the clutch slave cylinder on the '92

Don't forget the piston return springs! They make the piston come back up faster!

I could always use a relay box, I don't need fuses really, I still haven't used up my Thunderbird box's fuses. Anyone know of a car that has a relay box with at least 6-8 relays?

Well, just got back, and it was a relatively successful day. We never could find a pre-87 truck to get my buddy an oil pressure sender, which was kind of the main point of the trip. I did find one in a Bronco, but the douche yard owner would let us pull it "cuz the motor might be good." For my truck, I got a relay box from a 90s Taurs that has nothing but relays in it, almost exact what I wanted. It has 6 20amp relays and 1 40amp, I'd prefer at least 2 40 amps(was going to use them for my headlights); but I'll use the one 40amp for the low beams, and one 20amp relay for each light on high beams. Then I'll split up the fog lights into the remaining relays, and use another one for my back up lights. I'm sure I'll fine something to use the rest on. I also got an extra hgih current relay for free, just so I have a spare for the High side of my e-fans. I didn't know Ford made them until my I worked on my buddy's 91 f150, but theres a rubber door sweep thing that keeps tools from falling in front of the radiator. MY GOD ITS A PAIN IN THE ASS WHEN THAT HAPPENS. Finally, I got me some rail caps, they were on $20 and for diamond plate, thats not too bad. They need some polishing and they are cut a little short since the previous douche\owner had a toolbox. I also have a toolbox, so we'll see what I can pull off.

I'll be putting it all in over the next few days...I'll get some pics up here in a few.

$11.99, but free is better, when I got mine back in Phoenix it was free. I'll grab a pic of the tool catcher thing in a min.
