Looks nice, A buddy of mine has a 04 or 07 (can't remember) with a Hemi in it and has had nothing but problems, exhaust keeps blowing itself apart since nothing is welded (all clamps) and one day when he was going 70+MPH on the freeway the transmission put itself into reverse. A solenoid in the pack failed and get this...dodge wouldn't cover it under the drivetrain warranty. Other than that he likes it, but it's not my cup of tea, no dodge is, everyone I've ever worked on is a PITA, lol.

Looks clean though, I'm glad you like it.

Not all dodge's are P's OS's, I got it up to 75mph in 5th today, still toying with it figuring out the max of the gears, 1st can only do 15mph max, second is around 25mph, 3rd is about 40-45mph, 4th will take it up to about 55mph, and 5th like I said, will let it do just about anything at top speed, 75mph so far is how fast I've gotten it.

I don't have the Hemi, wish I did though I've got the Magnum 4.7L 287, which replaced the LA 318 in 2002.. God that was a hell of an engine, two barrel carburetor you got like 20mpg in the Dart's and Scamps, and still had enough power you could haul shit in the trucks and haul ass in the cars.

I do like this truck.. We're gonna have to take it to the stealership Monday, front doors are leaking air and water, so it's gonna need new freaking seals. I found out today I don't have the "Sentry System" so my key to have one cut is only $2 at Walmart, $15-$20 at the Stealership, if it did have the sentry system the key is $100 as it has a chip in it..

Lights for the behind the grille setup, they're Optronics Platinum Burners, bright as hell lights, like $20 at Walmart, used them on the last Dodge we had, before I knew anything about Relay's and such. They're 55w Halogen's. Some guys wire them to come on with the Highbeams, I won't be doing that, just wiring them up with the toggle switch included in the kit to operate independently. Most other guys that have the money, use Hella's with 130w halogens in them.. This time it'll be done right, 40amp relay, wire loom, all wiring hidden, weatherproof relay box. Dad wants to have an alarm system installed, which is $250. He also wants window tint.. I want a flowmaster 40 and he throws a fit.. but IDC, I'll get on one there one way or another..

Lights:

Also took some better pics, and found out the Color of the truck, it's called Deep Molten Red, and boy will it shine when I get done washing it and waxing it..

my dads is an 05 1500 with a hemi. he's been happy with it so far, just had to do minor stuff like a couple sensors, and regular maintenance items. he has i think 110,000 on the ticker. lasted longer than any chevy he's owned. and untill i bought my f250, he pulled his boat just about every other weekend during the summer which which is over 10,000 lbs... his 2 chevys both bought new, one was a '99 with the 5.whatever, full tow package, gears, everything. transmission was toast at 55K miles. his '02 was the same truck but wasnt a stepside, transmission was toast at 65K miles. and the boat we had then weighed only 7K lbs. we then bought the bigger boat, it could not pull it out of the water... the dodge pulls it out no problem...
my f250 dont even know its there lol

pullin my boat on the interstate, she got 10.1 MPG at 60-65mph. my f250 got 14mpg towing the same load on the same trip.

Not too many chevy's even back in the day could keep up with the Hemi's, specially the 383 and 426.. what trannys does chevy use currently, Allison's?? or is that for the shitomax diesel?

I'm curious to see how this truck would tow, mom wants to find a camper trailer to pull...

Ill admit chevy isnt hitting on much with their trannys in the 1500's. Step up to the 2500 or 3500 and get an Allison. I work for a company that runs nothing but Dodge's for company vehicles and I couldnt tell you how many transmissions and rear ends we've been thru. We have a parts van thats a chevy with 270k miles and has never had a thing done to the tranny but a linkage put in it and its a 1500. Like Ive said before.......ALL makes have their issues! Just depends on how your treated with warranty if it leaves a bad taste in your mouth when repairs are done. Ive replaced a front carrier in my truck because of bearing failure that should have been covered under warranty but because of a lift it was out of my pocket.

Glad you found a vehicle that you can get along with tho! Once mine is paid off.....I think Ill look at a older used F350 with a "stroker" or a Ram with a Cummins. I love the way a Cummins sounds.......

towing will probably be a dog, i know my dads hemi aint all that great on the interstate for towing, my boat loaded might weigh 3500 lbs, and the truck could tell it was there. pulled fine but felt like it had a lack of power, my f150 did better than the dodge on the interstate.

Any of the Cummins sound good. Old mechanicals can be tweeked and roll black smoke if you want them too. I wouldnt go back as far as the non turbo models just for lack of towing power. The 24 valve 5.9's are horses! Ill stack either truck if I get one! I also dont care for Dodges interior, just doesnt feel comfy by any means. Kinda like a Yota....they seem like the seats are hard and a lot of plastic. I know all vehicles have plastic but its just something about them.
