No, there's a fill\drain plug, gotta use a turkey baster with a hose on the end of it to get the old stuff out. I could run more boost with a smaller pulley, but you are right on the 230k thing, and I gotta get at least an intake\exhaust\tune set up first. I'm wondering how much my local exhaust shop would charge to get rid of that U-bend.

Here's a pic of an entire new down pipe, For now I'd probably just have my exhaust shop get rid of the U and keep the cat.

Good, the 3800 is an awesome motor and stock the GTP is decently powerful and mods can be had to make it a sleeper.
As for your wheel hop, don't be surprised. I get hope really bad in my car and if done often, your trans axle shafts and diff will suffer. Like kaboom kind of suffer. I need fatter tires and poly motor mounts for mine.

It feels like wheel hop but isn't, very hard to explain. I'll fix what I know is wrong and what the codes tell me to check and if it's still there, I'll worry about it then. I just found out that GM used intake gaskets that eventually get eaten by coolant and will spill coolant into the oil valley, intake runners, or onto the intake manifold itself. The fix is to put in aluminum gaskets, so I'll try and check tomorrow to see if it has been done to this car yet, if it has, good, if not, well I guess I have another thing to do next weekend.

Dexcool. If your coolant is green, you're good to go. Dexcool is orange and it eats everything. Did every gm in my family because of it. 3100's and 3400's
And they still use that crap!

Yeah there was a class action law suit on the effects of dexcool on engine components. The cure can be aluminum gaskets or replace the gaskets with factory style and run good ol fashioned green coolant. Dexcool is junk. Why they ever went to that shit I'll never know. I mean c'mon if it aint broke why fix it. Green has always been good why did GM change?

I would like to know the same. Or why in the world they still use it. There are a lot of manufacturers that use their own style coolant, like red in a honda, but none like gm gasket destroyer.

I think it's like just about everything else, so they'll make more money off of you having to buy that "special" fluid to work in the vehicle.

The only thing special about the fluid was the dumbasses that created it.
