It's a pain here in OK, IDK about FL but here you can either go to the Tag Agent or a private person(usually $50-$75 from private person) the State sends out a title after you've paid for a title and I believe you have to pay any back taxes owed from the last time it was registered. I had a Red and White 1979 F150 in 2010 that hadn't been tagged since 2008, the owner lost the title, it would've cost me $80(for the title) + another $350 in back taxes owed.

its crazy the price of certain things. like around here, no one hardly has a 4x4 truck, so when a dealer or individual has a 4x4 truck they sell it for top $$, co out to the country where 4x4 trucks are everywhere, 4x4 trucks sell for just a tad bit more than 2wd trucks... i had to drive 75 miles out of this area to get a decent deal on my f250. i paid 14K out the door for it, any dealer around my house would have had it listed for 15K before taxes/fees

in my line of work(i run a marina) most of the used boats sold between 27 and 35 ft, get shipped over seas to UK, Australia, NZ, and resold for almost double what it was sold for in the states(most of the time)...

so lets say this 27 ft boat sells for 25K here, shipping is about 8k, so roughly 33K invested... goes on the market overseas for 50K, sells for 45K. 12K profit
